RONALD C. DUNAWAY
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Services will be held Saturday at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church chapel for Ronald C. Dunaway, 85, Kansas City, Mo., who died Monday, March 8, 2021, surrounded by family. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., with a celebration of life service following at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar.
Survivors include his daughter, Rhonda Parrett, Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Brad Dunaway, Excelsior Springs; grandchildren, Carrie Ryun and husband Mike, Kansas City, Mo., Chris Parrett, Kansas City, Mo., Krisstyn Powell, Kansas City, Mo., Lauren Dunaway, Excelsior Springs and Samantha Griffin and husband Clint, Excelsior Springs and great-grandchildren, Emme Ryun, Cole Ryun, Carter Blakely, Samuel Powell and Bradley, Paighton, Andy, Charlie and Hank Griffin.
His wife of 59 years, K. Karlene, preceded him in death in April of 2015.
Mr. Dunaway as born June 14, 1935, to Coy E. and Emma Mae (Stump) Dunaway. His working career involved importing and exporting to Midland International and Western Auto, retiring in July, 1990. During his career he traveled to the Orient over 50 times and made many new friends and had numerous stories to tell.
After retirement, he built an in-home business repairing clocks. He made countless new friends through his clock shop. He was a master at diagnosing all makes and models. His knowledge was nothing less than remarkable. He had quite the collection of unusual clocks, which he proudly displayed and showed to everyone who came through the door.
He was dearly loved. He never met a stranger and he will be greatly missed.
