JASPER- Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Weng Funeral Chapel for Alfred Louis Pennell, 91, Jasper, who died Sunday, March 21, 2021, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service time, beginning at 1 p.m.

COVID-19 regulations will be observed at all times.

Memorial contributions may be made to Greenlawn Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include a son, Ed Pennell; a daughter, Irene Garcia; a brother, Lonnie Pennell; a sister, Wilma Pennell; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Kathy Ritchie; five brothers, Leonard, Lloyd, Nick, Luther and Roy; four sisters, Viola, Rosie, Mary and Edith and a granddaughter, Sonya Petroski.

Mr. Pennell was born July 23, 1929, in Dudenville, to Alfred Leroy and Lena Enola (Parrish) Pennell. He was a farmer. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Jasper First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

He married Rachel Gertrude Tummons on Feb. 20, 1951, at Bentonville, Ark. She died Aug. 1, 2013.
