SHAYLA KAY CROCKETT

LAMAR- A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Daniel Funeral Home, for Shayla Kay Crockett, 14, Lamar, who died Sunday, March 28, 2021.

Contributions are suggested to the family, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her parents, Dwayne and Leslie Crockett; one brother, Wyatt Crockett; one sister, Anna Lynn Crockett; her grandparents, Marilyn Hurst and Don and Donna Crockett, all of Lamar; aunts and uncles, Cynthia Hurst, Dustin and Cindy Crockett, Derek and Amy Crockett and Darin and Andrea Crockett, all of Lamar and cousins, Dage Crockett, Dacy Crockett, Logan Crockett, Chloe Crockett, Ea Swindle, Trace Crockett, Keystin Crockett, April Crockett, Brenden Crockett, Della Crockett and Derek Hurst.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ed Hurst; her great-grandparents, Doralee Marie Haile and Robert E. Haile, Elva Frances Crockett and Ralph Crockett and Willard and Lorene Edington.

Shayla was born April 22, 2006, to Dwayne Allen Crockett and Leslie Kay (Hurst) Crockett. She was a freshman at Lamar High School, where she was involved in track in high school and was a member of Lamar 4-H and Lamar FFA. She played volleyball throughout middle school.

Shayla loved her dogs, horses and even broke her own horses. She loved going to flea markets and antique stores. She loved photography and would take lots of pictures of her animals and outdoors. She also enjoyed all kinds of hunting including deer and raccoon hunting with her dogs. Shayla was always ready for horse camping with friends and family. She loved spending time with her grandparents.
