ARLENE HANNA CALHOUN

ROCKFORD, Ill.- A memorial service will be held at a later date in Winnebago for Arlene Hanna Calhoun, 70, Rockford, who died Sunday, April 23, 2021, at her home, following a brief illness.

Survivors include her husband, J.M. “Mick” Calhoun, of the home; two sons, Jeremy Calhoun and wife Amanda and their son and Joey Calhoun and wife Becky and their two daughters; a brother, Roy R. Hanna; four sisters, Pat Pennell, Iola French and husband Jon, Teri Hanna and Chris Hanna and several extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Calhoun was born Sept. 3, 1949, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to Tom L. and Mickey Hanna. She was a 1967 graduate of Lamar (Mo.) High School. She married James M. Calhoun on Nov. 18, 1972, in Rockford.

She was the only woman executive at Barber Colman in Rockford and then started Heel/Sew Quik. She also taught Sunday school at Central Christian Church in Rockford.
