City takes delivery of new Digger Derrick

The City of Lamar took delivery on Friday, May 21, of a new Digger Derrick truck to be used by the electric department. The truck is a 2021 Freightliner, that has been upfitted by the Altec Company. Primarily this unit is used to set utility poles, but does serve other purposes for the electric department and other city departments. This unit is replacing a 1996 Ford Digger Derrick that has served the city since it was new. The total cost for this unit was $212,116.
