GRAIN VALLEY- Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Green Lawn Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo., for Peggy J. McCoy, 92, Grain Valley, who died Saturday, May 29, 2021.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Bell, Blue Springs; granddaughter, Stacey Goodfellow and Eric Hicks, Sibley; granddaughter, Lindsey Schaaf and husband Brandon, Kansas City, Mo. and a great-granddaughter, Kylie Hicks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard McCoy, of Lamar and her son, Dennis “Dinger” Dixon of Grandview.

Mrs. McCoy was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Kansas City, Kan. She was employed by Pitman Manufacturing Co. as a production control planner and retired from DIT-MCO as a master scheduler in 1992.

She and her husband traveled the United States in their fifth-wheel, flying model airplanes and split their time between Casa Grande, Ariz., Branson and Lamar. They also enjoyed restoring and showing vintage Ford Mustangs.

After her husband’s passing in 2011, she moved to Grain Valley to be near her family. She was a loyal Chiefs and Royals fan, which she loved watching with her daughter. She cherished the many friends she made in her retirement community and always enjoyed their weekly game nights.
