GOLDEN CITY- Due to the high prevalence of Covid, the family is having a small private service for Robin Theresa Nelson, 59, Golden City, who died Saturday, July 3, 2021. Anyone wishing to share their condolences with the family may send a card to 1108 Hicks Ave., Golden City, MO 64748.

Survivors include her husband Kennard; her four daughters, Johanna, Genevieve and husband Tim, Hallie and Jasper; her grandchildren, Micah and Abigail; her siblings, Duffy and wife Merci, Rhonda and husband Greg, John and Kimlyn and husband Bill and countless other family members, neighbors and friends.

Mrs. Nelson was born Aug. 30, 1961, in Corning, Calif., to Alan and Mary Helen Mayr. She spent her childhood days on her grandparents farm and after graduating from Chico High School, she went to college where she met her husband, Kennard Nelson. The two were married July 17, 1983 and shared 38 years together. The couple moved to Golden City in February of 2000 with their four daughters.

Mrs. Nelson worked for Barton County Ambulance for 11 years as an EMT. She loved serving the residents of Barton County and Golden City. She served on the city council and was "Woman of the Year" for Golden City. At the time of her death, she worked for At Home Independence.

Mrs. Nelson was a natural gardener, she loved plants, working in the garden and being outdoors. She shared her love of the outdoors with her children through camping and fishing. She was a talented artist, she taught art, home schooled her children and shared her artwork with many in the community through community improvement projects and murals. She was a member of Grace Pentecostal Church in Golden City. She served the Lord in everything she did and loved teaching Sunday school, going on mission trips and sharing her love of Jesus with all around her.
