SHELDON- Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Milford Christian Church in Lamar for Kenneth Gene “Buck” Rogers, 86, Sheldon, who died Sunday, July 25, 2021, in Lamar, Mo.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to Milford Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include one son, Ed Rogers and wife Kelli, Overland Park, Kan.; three daughters, Terri Rogers, Kansas City, Kan., Christina Horgan, Orlando, Fla. and Sandra Rogers, Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Keith Rogers and wife Ruth, Kansas City, Mo. and two sisters, Lorraine Powers and husband John, Blue Springs and Karen Rogers, Kansas City, Mo.

Mr. Rogers was born Dec. 8, 1934, in Kansas City, Mo., to Cecil Loren and Laura Jeanette (Howard) Rogers. He served in the United States Marine Corp and the United States Air Force.

He was the owner and proprietor of "Buck's 4A Welding" Almost Anything, Anytime, Anywhere. He also operated the Blue Ridge Roller Rink in Raytown. He retired and moved to Sheldon in 1999.

In his retirement he enjoyed fishing, scrapping and being a great neighbor. He was also known to horse trade just about anything of value. He had a deep and abiding love for his family and his church. He will be genuinely missed by the entire community.
