JEFFREY ALLAN PHIPPS

LAMAR- Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at Daniel Funeral Home for Jeffrey Allan Phipps, 62, Lamar, who died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, Ala. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; one son, Eric Phipps and one daughter, Letitia Jewell and husband Greg, all of Lamar; three grandchildren, Christopher Jewell and wife Shannon, Holden, Mariah Jewell and husband Tyler, Blue Springs and Dominic Jewell, Lamar; one great-grandchild, Baby Jewell due March 2022; his mother, Allene Phipps; one brother, Anthony Phipps and wife Henri, Carthage; two sisters, Kay Timmons and husband Tim, Lamar and Myra Percy and husband Jason, Carthage.
He was preceded in death by his father Dale and his in-laws, Marcus and Louis Tummons.
Mr. Phipps was born Dec. 22, 1958, in Lamar, to Arthur Dale and Allene Marie (Braker) Phipps. He married Margaret Ann Tummons on March 16, 1979, in Lamar.
He attended Lamar High School and Vo-Tech, graduating in the class of 1977. He completed and won many automotive contests. His skill and passion for cars led him into the automotive business. He first worked as a mechanic and then spent most of his career in auto parts sales. He and his wife Margaret owned and operated Phipps Auto Supply. They also co-owned a used car lot with his brother. In recent years, he worked at Bumper to Bumper until his retirement due to health issues.
