LAMAR- Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home for Melanie Ann Moore, 61, Lamar, who died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at Truman Medical Center Hospital Hill in Kansas City, Mo. Burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested and made payable to Milford Christian Church or T.H.E. Professional Pet Breeders, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Michael; two sons, Derek Forst and wife Lindsay, Sedalia and Jonathan Forst and wife Erin, Lamar; her parents, Robert Allen Rice Sr. and wife Judy and Shirley Lee Ricketts; five grandchildren, Avery Forst, Alyse Forst, Jaxon Forst, Tyson Forst and Evelyn Forst; three brothers, Allen Rice and wife Vickie, Golden City, Steve Rice and wife Tammy, Garden City, Kan. and Rick Rice and wife Ruth, Carthage; her mother-in-law, Rose Ann Moore and father-in-law, Terry Moore and wife Saundra, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Mrs. Moore was born June 30, 1960, in Lockwood, to Robert Allen Rice and Shirley Lee Ricketts. She was a 1978 graduate of Golden City High School. She married Michael Allen Moore on July 20, 1992, in Eureka Springs, Ark.

She spent the last 20 years raising and breeding dogs at MAM Kennel, from her home in Lamar. She was an avid sports fan of her sons and grandchildren. She could always be found on the sidelines of the football field, t-ball field or soccer field, cheering for her loved ones. Her laugh and smile could brighten any room. She was an excellent pet breeder and was an avid member and spokesperson for T.H.E. Professional Pet Breeders.
