Barton County resident Claudia Carter won Missouri Grand Champion Draft Mule at the Missouri State Fair on Saturday, Aug. 14. Her mule, Cindy, beat out approximately 25 other competitors to take the top prize. The story behind this amazing feat will appear in a future edition of the Lamar Democrat.
