Schorzman and Caruthers continue to serve at fair

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger These two lovely “young” ladies have been assisting at the Lamar Free Fair for many years. Dorlyne Schorzman (left) and Louise Caruthers (right) were assisted by Louise’s daughter, Karen Nims, as they checked in fruit on Thursday morning, Aug. 26, at Memorial Hall. Dorlyne, who will be turning 98 in a month, is a tad bit younger than Louise, who has already observed her 98th birthday. We’re not sure what the secret is to their longevity, but whatever it is, it works for them as they are still as spry and witty as ever. If you see these two ladies, be sure to let them know you appreciate all of their hard work and dedication to the Lamar Free Fair.
