LARRY G. IMMEKUS

CARTHAGE-A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage for Larry G. Immekus, 66, who died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, after battling pancreatic cancer. He passed peacefully at home with his family by his side. Minister Michael Whorlow will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason Woodard Mortuary, Joplin.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Will Norton Miracle Foundation, in care of the mortuary.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Donna Immekus; a son, Jason Immekus and fiancee Kathleen Chandler, Joplin; daughters, Michelle Morgan and husband Henry, Lamar and Julie Immekus, Carthage; grandchildren, Allie and husband Aaron Palma, Trent Morgan and fiance Caitlin Moreno, Kelsie Morgan, Chaise Lee and Cassie and Kirk Chandler; two brothers, Bruce and Mary Immekus, Joplin and two sisters, Anna Beckham and her late husband, Terry Beckham, Joplin and Linda and Rob Hostler, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Gene and Melva Turner and a granddaughter, Haidyn Immekus Lee on April 20, 2003.
Mr. Immekus was born Sept. 25, 1949, to Leo and Sally (McClary) Immekus. He married Donna Turner on January 24, 1970 in Joplin and was recently semi-retired from Hometown Bank where he worked as a financial analyst. He had previously served on the Carthage Board of Public Works.
He was an avid Corvette buff and loved baseball; his favorite team being the St. Louis Cardinals. Other interests also included golden oldies music and NASCAR.
