HOLLISTER- A private gathering will be held at a later time for Cherie Lynn Wilson, 66, Hollister, who died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, with family at her side.

Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Survivors include a daughter, Nicole Ham and husband Jay, Hollister; a son, Michael Wilson, Hollister; her grandchildren, Breanna Wilson and Sydney Wilson, Hollister and Triston Wilson and Jordane Wilson, Lamar and two great-grandchildren, Grayson and one on the way. She is also survived by a family loved one, Georgette Brubaker, Hollister and her best friend, Becky Jeffries, Lamar.

She was preceded in death by both parents and an infant brother.

Mrs. Wilson was born Oct. 3, 1954, in Florida, to Melvin and Nita (Burchett) VanHowten.

A creative person, she loved to quilt, crochet and knit. With skillful hands and a “green thumb”, she enjoyed working in the garden and growing beautiful houseplants. She was a wonderful cook, who was well known for making chicken livers.

Having a sentimental heart, her favorite movies were A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Christmas Story. She also watched Ghost Adventures. She was a kind and patient woman who worked for 18 years as a customer service associate at Walmart.

Most of all, she loved her family, especially her two dogs, Nuka and Emett.
