Lamar senior receiver No. 2 Mason Gastel goes up for another highlight reel catch in a Big 8 Conference game with Monett. The Tigers defeated the Cubs 52-21 to improve to 7-0 overall, 4-0 in the Big 8 West. The Tigers will host Seneca on Friday night.

Lamar Tigers dominate Jasper
The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Sixth grade girls earn Kansas State Championship
Lockwood High School cheerleaders Kalsee Garoutte, Rachel Baugh and Mekenzi Weimer recently received Academic All-State honors. To receive Academic All-State for cheer, one must be a varsity cheerleader, have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.5, be in the top 20 percent of their class and be a current senior, junior or sophomore.

Deadline nearing for citywide garage sale listing
Shiloh Wilkinson, daughter of TJ and Melissa Wilkinson, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Shiloh enjoys drawing and reading in her spare time. She plans on playing volleyball or basketball next year. Her favorite subjects are Social Studies and Reading, because both teachers make it a lot of fun while they teach.
