DONNA JEAN LAWRENCE

LAMAR- No services are planned at this time for Donna Jean Lawrence, 70, Lamar, who died Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, after a brief illness.
Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Ashes will be interred later alongside her parents and brother at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center, Iowa.
She is survived by cousins, Warren Lawrence and wife Betty, Ray Little and wife Doris, Evelyn Hammer, Pat Delfs and husband Steve, John Lawrence and wife Karen, Harel Lawrence, Nancy McCall and husband Kenny, Sharon Higgins and husband Earl and close friends, Carol Davis, Cara Richey and husband John and Judy Gastel.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Lawrence.
Mrs. Lawrence was born Dec. 13, 1950, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Wilbur and LaVerne (Sheaffer) Lawrence.
She grew up on a farm in central Iowa, moved to this area in the late 1960’s and retired from bookkeeping. She was employed by a number of local firms including Ihm’s Motor Company, Pahlow & Pahlow, Epoch Composite Products and Roosevelt Bank. She was a graduate of Beaman-Conrad High School in Conrad, Iowa and attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan.
She was a devout Christian, dedicated Bible-reader and member of Milford Christian Church. A kind and generous person, she loved music, animals, children and reading. She especially loved her “adopted” nieces and nephew, Michelle Strate and husband Bryce, Nathan Davis and wife Sarah, Kendall Schlichting and Jaclyn Clark and husband David, and their children, Taylor, Hannah, Ashlynn, Michael, Amelia and Nolan.
