COVID update

Joel Dermott, administrator at the Barton County Health Department, stated, “We were blessed with a good week, with only one new case reported in the past seven days”. Of course, he was referring to COVID. He went on to add that the positivity rate and case rate are at a level that hasn’t been seen since June of 2020.

The state did release one more fatality, bringing the county’s total to 28 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

A total of 1524 COVID cases have been reported in the county to date, with one active, 28 deaths and 1495 recovered.

As stated above, there was only one new case in the last seven days.
