GREENFIELD-Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greenfield Funeral Chapel for Ethel Eugenia Jean Jones, 89, Greenfield, who died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. Burial will follow in Pennsboro Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dade County Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include one son, Stephen King Jones; two daughters, Suzanne Louise Jones and friend Debbie Houska and Shirley Ellen Wilmoth; five grandchildren, Shelly Renae Jones, Khristen Leigh Limpus and husband Bruce, Tyler King Jones and Grace Wilhite, Chase Hunter Wilmoth and wife Chelsie and Lauren Kathleen Russell; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and her best friend and sister by choice, Anita Baldwin.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Divine and her husband Cecil Divine and Pug Thieman and one granddaughter, Stephanie R. Jones.

Mrs. Jones was born June 3, 1926, in Dade County, to Herman Eugene and Ethel Prudence (Manis) King. She was a 1944 graduate of Greenfield High School. She worked for the Corp. of Engineers in St. Louis and then returned home in 1945. She was a bookkeeper for Empire District Electric Corporation until December of 1946. After getting married and have her three children, she returned to work as a receptionist and secretary at the University Extension Center, and later as a program specialist at the Dade County A.S.C.S. office for eight years. In 1974 she began working for the Division of Family Services as a receptionist and clerk, where she retired in 1994 after 20 years of service.

She was a member of the Pennsboro W.P.F.A. Club, a charter member of the Pennsboro Farmeretts Club, the Better Homemakers Club and the Greenfield American Legion Auxiliary. She gave 25 years of leadership in the Pennsboro 4-H Club. She was a member of Greenfield First Christian Church.

She married Elmer Travis Jones on Dec. 7, 1946. He died in 1998.
