ROBERT ROE

NEVADA, Mo.- The family will have a celebration of life at a later date for Robert Coleman Roe, 89, who died Monday, Dec. 13, 2021. He will be buried with his wife Thelma’s ashes as friends and family join together to share memories.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo.

Survivors include his son, Cole Roe and wife Debra; daughter, Reni Geiger and husband Randall and daughter-in-law Dee Roe; grandchildren, Erica Riley and husband Pat, Courtney Linville and husband Aaron, Lauren Barna and husband Steven, Jake Geiger and Sean and Darby Roe and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Thelma Mae Roe and a son, Steven Roe, Ashland, VA.
Mr. Roe was born in 1932 in El Dorado Springs to Odd Coleman and Amy Irene Roe. After graduating high school in 1950 he joined the Navy and served four years. He was stationed mainly in San Diego, where he met his wife Thelma. They married on his birthday in June of 1954, in Ohio.
Mr. Roe held a BA in Accounting from Kent State University and taught construction at Lamar for 17 years. He loved the Lord and touched many lives. He served as a mentor to young and older people alike through his teaching and many years of service as a deacon. He had a tremendous love of family and greatly enjoyed spending time with friends and traveling. During their last years together, he and his wife had many adventures, several taking them outside the country to Europe and Canada on cruises.
