MERLIN RAY PYLE

CARTHAGE- Merlin Ray Pyle, 66, of Carthage, MO, passed away peacefully at home on December 16, 2021. Merlin was born January 20, 1955, to Harley and Alice (Schilling) Pyle in Carthage, MO. He grew up in rural Golden City, MO and graduated from Golden City High School in 1973. Merlin married Ramona Chism on December 3, 1977 and they had two children, Joey and Kelly. He worked hard throughout his life as a farmer and rancher. Even though he battled Parkinson’s for many years he was still working at the farm until a week before he died.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona Pyle of Carthage, MO; son Joey (Stacy) Pyle of Columbia, MO; daughter Kelly (Brandon) Pyle-Taute of Neosho, MO; three grandchildren, Brock, Micah and Hannah; two brothers, Stanley (Gladys) Pyle of Carterville, MO and Calvin (Carol) Pyle of Lamar, MO and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Alice.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, December 20, at Fairview Christian Church in Carthage, MO. Family will receive guests after the service until 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations may be made to Avalon Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
