BARLING, Ark.- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, Mo., for Ryan Lee Jones, 50, Barling, who died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. Burial will follow in Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield, Mo.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to the Plaza Theatre in Lamar, Mo., in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife Melanie, Barling; two sons, Nathan Jones, Cameron, Mo. and Wyatt Jones, Barling; two daughters, Kadi Jones and Kevin White, Lamar, Mo. and Sara Jones, Barling; four grandchildren, Austin and Sophia White, Lamar, Mo. and Weston and Autry Jones, Barling; one brother, Chris Jones and wife Rebecca, Lamar, Mo.; two sisters, Lisa Villarreal and husband Jason and Teresa Jones, Independence, Mo., along with nieces, nephews and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his paternal grandparents, Joe and Ruth (Barker) Jones; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Alma (Jackson) Cook; uncles, David Jones and Bobby Cook and an aunt, JoAnn (Jones) Guzman.

Mr. Jones was born May 23, 1971, in Kansas City, Mo. to Danny Jones and Eula (Cook) Jones. He graduated from East High School in the class of 1990. On December 21, 1991, he married Melanie Lynn Myers at Leeds Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo.

He worked for Marmic Fire and Safety for over 14 years, working in the sprinkler department in Joplin, Mo., which led to managing the Fort Smith branch. He loved hiking, traveling and enjoyed telling jokes, especially his "Dad" jokes. He was thrilled when the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas Royals made it to the Super Bowl and World Series. His biggest highlights were taking the grandkids for rides in his truck and spending time with family, along with his parrot Monique.
