IANTHA- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar for Ellen LaVerne Sprouls, 87, Iantha, who died Monday, Jan. 3, 2022. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Iantha Baptist Church, the DOGS foundation at the Liberal School District, the Miller Family Scholarship Fund or the Iantha Park Fund.

Survivors include her brothers, Doyle Miller and wife Judy, Calvin Miller and wife Janet, Keith Miller and wife Kathy and Larry Miller; sisters, Lorene Sprenkle and husband Roy and Sharon Stout and husband Henry; sisters-in-law, Joan Miller and Shirley Cook; two sons, Dwight Sprouls and wife Cindi and Doug Sprouls and wife Pam, both of Lamar; two daughters, Diann Marti and husband Randy, Nevada, Mo. and Darla Loy and husband Michael, Pittsburg, Kan.; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Sprouls, Liberal; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth and Lloyd Miller and her oldest son, Dwayne Sprouls.
Mrs. Sprouls was born Feb. 17, 1934, in Adair, Okla., to Theodore and Genetta (Tuell) Miller. The Miller family moved from Oklahoma to Iantha in 1946, where she attended Bryan Country School and graduated from Liberal High School in 1951. After graduation she attended Southwest Baptist College and graduated with a BA in Education in 1953. She began her teaching career in the fall of 1953 at Liberal, teaching second grade. She also taught at the Rose Branch rural school near Oakton. In 1971 she graduated from Missouri Southern in Joplin with a BS in Education. She then taught elementary school at Liberal until her retirement in 1997.
She married Marion George Sprouls on June 6, 1954. He preceded her in death.
