GALESBURG, Kan.- A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Galesburg Christian Church, for Tamelia R. Edwards, 49, Galesburg, who died at 2:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi in Pittsburg.

Memorials are suggested to help defray the funeral expenses and can be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357. A Go-Fund Me account called “Laying Tamelia Edwards to Rest” has also been established.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Edwards, of the home; three sons, Shannen Evans, El Dorado Springs, Mo., Tallon Edwards and wife Lindsay, Galesburg and Corey Edwards, Galesburg; one daughter, McKenna Sturgell, Arcadia; one granddaughter, Braelyn Renee Edwards; her father, Lauren Dunford, Lamar, Mo.; her mother, Euleta Barger, Liberal, Mo.; one brother, Joseph Barger, Liberal, Mo. and one sister, Jennifer Dickerson, College Station, Texas.

Mrs. Edwards was born Feb. 10, 1972, in Lamar, Mo., to Lauren Lynn and Euleta Delane (Dickerson) Dunford. She grew up and attended school in Liberal and Lockwood, graduating from Liberal High School in 1991.

Following high school she earned an Associate’s degree from Fort Scott Community College. For a time she worked at U.S. Awards in Pittsburg. She married Arthur A. “Art” Edwards on May 10, 1999, in Eureka Springs, Ark. After their marriage she devoted her life to raising their children.

She was an active member of Galesburg Christian Church. Spending time with her family was the highlight of her life. She especially enjoyed watching her sons race motorcycles. Crafting, fishing and Geocaching were some of her other favorite pastimes.
