WANDA JUNE MILES

LAMAR- A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, at Greenfield Cemetery in Jerico Springs, for Wanda “June” Miles, 89, Lamar, who died Tuesday, Feb 12, 2022, at Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation in Lockwood.
Arrangements were under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to Truman Health and Rehabilitation or the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Easson and husband Andy, Lawton, Okla. and Joy Miles, Lamar; five grandchildren, Josh Weimer and Annie Moore, Jared Weimer and wife Jennifer, Brandon Easson, Jordan Easson and wife Elena and Jacob Easson and wife Kari; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan Weimer, Henry Easson, Morgan Weimer, Rylie Weimer, Sydnie Weimer, Chloe Weimer, Blair Easson and Zoe Easson; three sisters-in-law, Lorene Higgins, Nellie Higgins and Mary Ann Higgins, all of Lamar; two brothers-in-law, Ted Miles, Rich Hill and Kenneth Miles and wife Janet, Lamar, along with many niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Jody Miles; a grandson, Chance Kentner; seven brothers and three sisters-in-laws.
Mrs. Miles was born June 7, 1932, in Jerico Springs, to Carrol Jay Higgins and Elsie (Burk) Higgins. She graduated from El Dorado Springs High School. On January 26, 1952 she married Louie Joyce Miles in Eureka Springs, Ark.
Mrs. Miles worked as a CNA, med tech and activities director at Truman Healthcare, where she worked for 47 years. She moved to Lamar in 2000 from a farm near Sylvania.
She was devoted to her family and her work. She was a great cook and all of her relatives remember her home-cooked green beans and homemade noodles.
