HAROLD MALONE JR.

LIBERAL- A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lighthouse of Worship in Liberal for Harold Edward Malone, Jr., 67, who died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, following a short battle with cancer. Pastor David Beard will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Lighthouse of Worship in Liberal.

Survivors include his mom, Birdie Malone; a son, Jaylee Hardin; five stepchildren, Terese Stalman, Darle Bell, David Fleener, Anthony Fleener and Miika Duncan and one niece, Elizabeth Reily.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Malone; his dad, Harold Sr. and two brothers, Tim Malone and Tom Malone.

Mr. Malone was born June 15, 1954, in Independence, Kan., to Harold Sr. and Birdie (Briles) Malone. He attended Liberal High School, where he graduated in 1972. After high school he worked as a construction worker for B&H Construction for over 40 years. He married the love of his life, Charlotte O’Neal and they were blessed with over 25 years together before her death on Sept. 14, 2018. He loved fixing old cars, gardening, reading his Bible, watching auction shows and mowing his lawn. It was not unheard of to catch him mowing his lawn several times a week. He was a loving husband, father and son.
