CatTracks-Fair Acres Family YMCA won the Second Place Team Trophy at Heartland AREA Regional Swim Championships in Monett on March 5 and 6. Regionals were not held the previous year due to Covid-related restrictions. Several members of the Lamar TigerSharks summer swim team also compete for CatTracks in the fall and/or winter. Four of these athletes participated in the Regional Championship meet. Pryor Brown raced in the 8&Under Boys age group, earning four individual medals, as well as a gold medal in the 100 yard freestyle relay, at his first-ever Regional Championships. Alix Davis brought home nine medals in 13-14 Girls competition, with seven “top three” finishes including a first place finish in the 400 yard medley relay. Ryan Davis and his teammates earned four gold medals, sweeping all of the 15-21 Boys relay events. Ryan also medaled in all four of his individual events. Millie Hollstein, another first-year CatTracks member, raced to a sixth place medal in the 9-10 Girls 100 yard backstroke. Brown, A. Davis, and R. Davis also qualified for Heartland AREA Swim Championships in Edwardsville, Illinois, on March 18-20. However, they were unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts.
