ELLA “MARIE” WINANS

JASPER- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Jasper for Ella “Marie” Winans, 92, Jasper, who died Thursday, March 24, 2022.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Jasper Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include sons, Elvin Winans Jr. and Aubry Winans, Jasper; grandchildren, Darrelle Hill and husband Eric, Jasper, Clifford Winans and wife Melissa, Springfield, Ray Winans and wife Debbie, Jasper and Darren Winans, Charleston; great-grandchildren, Bridget and Gatlin Hill, Jasper, Ray Winans and wife Hannah, Emporia, Kan., Tristan Winans and wife Bethany, Emporia, Kan., Quentin and Jesse Winans, Jasper, Angel and Katelyn Buhlinger, Jasper, Reuben Winans, Springfield and Arianna Hunt, Jasper; great-great-grandchildren, Rickert and Louna Winans, Emporia, Kan.; her siblings, Martha Jessup, Springfield and Don Morgan and wife Roseanna, state of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and siblings, Mary Effie Mapes, Nancy Beshirs, Ralph Morgan, Floyd Morgan, Anna Mae Fletcher and Johnny Morgan.

Mrs. Winans was born Feb. 12, 1930, in Chadwick, to Leona (Clevenger) and George Morgan. She was a 1950 graduate of Chadwick High School. She married Elvin E. Winans in 1951 and moved to Jasper, where together they farmed and raised their family. She was a hardworking farm wife; not only doing the housework and caring for her family, but preparing three large meals per day and doing necessary outside chores.

She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Jasper. She was a loving wife and mother who doted on her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
