WILLIAM DOTTERER
PITTSBURG, Kan.- Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Apostolic Christian Faith Church in Pittsburg for William “Bill” Joseph Dotterer, 78, who died Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Via Christi Village in Pittsburg. Burial will be held at 1:45 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, Mo.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home and again prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon, Pittsburg; two sons, Robert Dotterer and wife Laura, Sardis, Ohio and David Dotterer and wife Carol, Jasper; three daughters, Nancy Rocke and husband Matthew, Goodfield, Ill., Beth Banwart and husband Jonathan and Rebecca Dotterer, both of Lamar; one brother, John Dotterer and wife Jeanne, Eureka, Ill.; one sister, Marilyn Graf, Peoria, Ill.; two brothers-in-law, Mark Hoerr and wife Julie, Metamora, Ill. and Phillip Stettner and wife Maureen, Bluffton, Ind. and 22 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Hoerr and one brother-in-law, Virgil Graf.
Mr. Dotterer was born Dec. 20, 1943, to Joseph and LaVina (Hodel) Dotterer, in Bluffton, Ind. He was raised in Bluffton until he moved with his family to Phoenix, Ariz., a the age of 14. He was baptized in 1960 and married Sharon Stettner on July 14, 1968.
He taught for many years, with a brief intermission when he was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam Conflict. They moved to Missouri in 1999 and then to Kansas in 2017. He enjoyed his family, visiting with brethren and spending time outdoors in the desert. He treasured his faith in God and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Faith.
