LOIS FAYE FOX NELSON

LAMAR- Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Daniel Funeral Home for Lois Faye Fox Nelson, 83, Lamar, who died Monday, March 28, 2022. Burial will follow in Lake Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to either St. Jude Children Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project or to the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Karl Morey and wife Laurie, Lamar and their son, Kyle and Jay and Rita Nelson, Lamar and their children, Sage, Gabriel and Chloe; two daughters, Debbie Chernack and husband Steve, Evans, Ga. and their daughters, Karla, Misty and Betsy and Jane Korkoske, Panama City, Fla. and her daughters, Trishia, Amanda, Hayley, Renee and Rachel; two sisters, Betty Topliff and husband Bob, Springfield and Nancy Bowman, Lamar and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert; a brother, Hervey Ray Fox and a sister, Carol Dooley.

Mrs. Nelson was born June 8, 1938, in Jasper, to Hervey Alonzo Fox and Lois Jane (Scholl) Fox. She married Jerry Nelson on Nov. 12, 1971, in Lamar.

She was a homemaker, a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, a member of the Republican Women's Club and the First Baptist Church in Jasper. She loved talking to people and never knew a stranger, which is how she got her nickname, “Chatterbox”. She also had the privilege of traveling all through the United States and Canada with her husband while he was employed at CFI. She liked to fish, she had fond memories of fishing with her dad and continued fishing throughout most of her life. She enjoyed reading her Bible, teaching Sunday school when she could, singing in the church choir and sharing about her faith. Most of all she loved her family and sharing about them with others.
