LOCKWOOD-A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lockwood for Joan Louise (Viets) VonStroh, 89, Lockwood, who died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Elementary School, 212 W. 4th St., Lockwood, MO 65682.

Survivors include her husband, Laurence VonStroh, Lockwood; three daughters, Jane Peters and husband Kenneth, Jefferson City, Carol Bishop and husband Steve, Concordia and Paula Lasater and husband Randy, Lockwood; eighth grandchildren, Jennifer Moore, Edmond, Okla., Steven Bishop, Guthrie, Okla., Jennifer Kunkel, Meredith Marsh and Blaira Sayre, Concordia, Clay Lasater and Joseph Lasater, Lockwood and Lauren Plank, Shawnee, Kan.; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. VonStroh was born April 27, 1926, in Lockwood, to H.C. Tommy and Edna (Bartling) Viets. She graduated from Golden City High School and Drury University in Springfield. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lockwood, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for over 30 years. Her special gift was loving and teaching young children.

She married Laurence William VonStroh on Sept. 3, 1949.
