BEULAMAE SMITH

LAMAR- A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sheldon Cemetery for Beulamae Smith, 89, Lamar, who died Friday, Aug. 26, 2022. A visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m., at Konantz Warden Funeral Home.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Survivors include her children, Barbara Gale Winningham and husband Jack, Lamar, William Davis Smith and wife Sheila, Cabot, Ark., Jeanette Liles and husband Richard, Austin, Ark., Elizabeth Joyce Lopez and husband Steve, Cabot, Ark. and Louis Ray Smith and wife Wendy, Cabot, Ark.; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was also survived by two sisters, Ester Cable, Lamar and Bessie Olliso, Golden City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; a son, Bruce Wayne Smith; brothers, Delbert Wright and Albert Wright and sisters, Eunice Gann, Mildred Baughman and Edith Hammers.
Mrs. Smith, or as she was affectionately know as “Bootie”, was born April 30, 1933, in Burwell, Neb., to Ray Arthur and Lillie Viola (Shane) Wright. She married William “Bill” Houston Smith on Nov. 12, 1950, in Nevada, Mo. They lived and worked in Nebraska and Missouri. They operated “Smitty’s Phillips 66” in Carthage until his death in 1978. She later worked at Safeway Cheese in Carthage, retiring 15 years later.
She was a graduate of Victory Bible Institute in Tulsa, Okla., in 1994 and moved to Arkansas in 2010. She was a Christian and her desire was for everyone to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
