FORT SCOTT, Kan.- A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bluff Cemetery in Lamar for Darrel Louis Thompson, 72, Fort Scott, who died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi in Ft. Scott.
Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, Mo.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to Bluff Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include one daughter, Laminda Thompson, Liberal, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jacob Chapman and wife Ivy, Kaysha Chapman, all of Joplin, Mo., Brandon Thompson and Katilyn Thompson, both of Liberal, Mo.; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Thompson, Ft. Scott and two sisters, Linda Thompson and Sandra Lessley, both of Ft. Scott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; a brother, Roy Thompson; a daughter, Lavona Chapman and a son, Eddie Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was born Jan. 12, 1950, in Webb City, Mo., to Eddie Louis Thompson and Dorothy Lavona (Collins) Thompson. He married Carolyn Spurling on Sept. 8, 1967, at Oskaloosa, Mo.
He worked as a leak test supervisor at Superior Wheels. He also worked for Extrusions Inc., and Peerless Products.
