The last Picnic in the Park of the year was held Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Lamar City Park, with a constant stream of hungry diners finding something to suit their tastes. Partnering this year with Picnic in the Park was the Lamar’s Parents as Teachers program, who had an area set up under the park shelter number three for children to participate in activities, along with having the ability to experience a large bevy of work vehicles including a firetruck, a tractor, a city electrical truck, a school bus, a backhoe, tow trucks and an ambulance. The firetruck and backhoe seemed to be the most population attraction, especially for the young men. Anyone with a child birth to age five should contact Mary McWilliams, educator for Lamar Parent’s as Teachers. Information can be found on their facebook page.
