IRWIN- No services are planned at this time for Geneva Ida (Piearcy) Hurlburt, 85, Irwin, who died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022.

Survivors include her husband Paul of 72 years and all three of their children, Michael Bruce Hurlburt and Debora Castle and husband Scott, Sheldon and Barbara Wickware and husband Steve, Pelsor, Ark. She is also survived by two siblings, Rose Casey and husband Scott, Lookeba, Okla. and James Piearcy, Hinton, Okla.; eight grandchildren Jennifer Whittaker and husband John, John Rawlings, Jason Rawlings and wife Tonya, Erik Hurlburt, Jeff Hurlburt, Lauren Hurlburt, Casey Castle and Erin Rivero and Lance Stoltzfus and six great-grandchildren, Jordan and James Whittaker, Cameron Rawlings, Logan Rawlings, Drake Hurlburt and Kyrra Hurlburt, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her sister Lillian Lee, and four brothers Carl, Willie, William and Robert Piearcy.

Mrs. Hurlburt was born April 11, 1937 in Canadian County, Okla. to William Thomas (Pete) and Donie (Golden) Piearcy. She grew up in Hinton, Okla. On October 26, 1950, she married Paul Cameron Hurlburt.

Mrs, Hurlburt moved to Irwin from Brighton, Colo. in August 1969 and loved learning about all the different plants, trees, birds, insects and snakes. She became a walking encyclopedia. She was an excellent cook and gardener. She could sew, knit and crochet. She loved telling stories about growing up picking cotton and hoeing peanuts.
