The Barton County Chamber of Commerce Lighted Christmas Parade took place around the Lamar square on Thursday, Dec. 8. Following the parade that began at 6 p.m., several opportunities took place, creating the perfect atmosphere to add to the holiday season. A free movie of “Polar Express”, offered by Lamar Community Betterment, was shown at the Plaza following the parade, along with a candlelight singing of “Silent Night”, led by actors from the Oakton Living Nativity Scene and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Heavenly Daylight Donut Shop. Several open houses were also offered around the square, with businesses staying open late in order for those needing to do some Christmas shopping.
