ALMA FAY STORM

LAMAR- Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Daniel Funeral Home for Alma “Fay” Storm, 88, Lamar, who died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar.
A visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 12 noon, at the funeral home.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to the Barton County Senior Citizens Center, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Phillip Storm and wife Andrea and Larry Storm and wife Dana, all of Jasper; three daughters, Barbara Dixon and Jo Ann Still and husband Greg, all of Lee's Summit and Vi Tubaugh and husband Mike, Carthage; 10 grandchildren, Derek Storm, Ashley Still, Brandi Rush, Justin Storm, Nathan Still, Ryan Storm, Lindsay Guffey, Craig Tubaugh, Travis Storm and Preston Storm; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ivan Charles Voorhees Jr. and wife Denzil, Lamar; two sisters, Ima Jean Pierson, Lamar and Francis McDaniel and husband Carl, Carthage and one brother-in-law, Ronnie Rives, Jasper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Storm; three sisters, Rosa Lee Monroe, Dolly Toms and Lorene Rives; one son-in-law, David Dixon and two brother-in-laws, Russell Pierson and Melvin Monroe.
Mrs. Storm was born Sept. 29, 1934, in Golden City, to Ivan Charles Voorhees and Zona Marie (Waggoner) Voorhees. She graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1952. She married Phillip “Lee” Storm on Nov. 27, 1952, in Lamar.
She worked as a CNA and rehabilitation director at Lakeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center (known today as Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation) for over 30 years. She also sold Avon and worked at a bakery.
Mrs. Storm enjoyed square dancing, but her later years were dedicated to her kids and grandkids who she loved dearly, playing all sorts of games with her many friends and volunteering and attending faithfully at Lamar First Christian Church, where she was a member.
