ZACHARY SCOTT KELLEY

LAMAR- Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Lamar for Zachary Scott Kelley, 31, Lamar, who died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are welcomed and made payable to Daniel Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.

Survivors include his parents, Scott and Pam; his sister, Shari Ann (Gabriel) Mendez; two nephews, Benjamin Mendez and Remington Mendez; two nieces, Sophia Mendez and Gabriella Mendez with a new niece, Natalia Mendez due in March of 2023 and grandparents, Don Kelley and Nancy Jane Robertson.
He was was preceded in death by his grandmother, Shari Kelley; grandparents, Joe and Freda Leer; great-grandparents, Lester and Dorothy Kelley and Bud and Lorene Moore; niece, Sydney Elena Mendez-Kelley and cousin, Matthew Leer.
Mr. Kelley was born Oct. 16, 1991, in Joplin, to Scott Steward Kelley and Pamela Louise (Leer) Kelley. He was a 2011 graduate of Lamar High School.
He worked at the Plaza Theater, where one could always find him running the concessions, from popping the popcorn, getting drinks or running the cash register. He collected coins and one could often find him walking the square, going from bank to bank, in search of something new for his collection.
He had a bright smiling face and would speak to everyone he encountered; his love for his community and family were unmatched. He was a huge Lamar Tiger Football fan and loved his Kansas City Chiefs. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Lamar.
