LAMAR- A private graveside service was held Wednesday, Dec. 14 for Phyllis J. Morris, 96, Lamar, who died Monday, Dec. 12, 2022. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Lamar at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include sons Kirk Morris and wife Sue, Broken Arrow, Okla., Kent Morris and wife Melody, Nixa, Kevin Morris and wife Jan, Estes Park, Colo. and Kim Morris and wife Vickie, Lamar; grandchildren, Sarah Demster and husband Joe, Clever, Zachary Morris and finance Mary, Columbia, Mo., Kelli McKinley and husband Sean, Houston, Texas, Brian Morris and wife Morgan, Virginia Beach, VA, Catherine Gustafson and husband Nathan, Camdenton, Benjamin Morris and wife Sarah, Moro, Ill. and Andrew Morris, Oklahoma City, Okla. and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her "fifth son", Hector L. Sepulveda of Monterrey, N. L., Mexico, who came as a foreign exchange student and has remained a family member for 43 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband and granddaughter Charity Morris.

Mrs. Morris was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Mt. Vernon, to Mabel (Coffman) and Arthur Craven. She grew up in the Springfield area and graduated from Central High School in 1945. She married Wayne G. Morris on June 9, 1946, in Springfield and they remained married 58 years until his death in 2001.

She was a dedicated mother whose life revolved around her sons. She was also a talented artist who painted in several medias. She helped to run the family business, Morris Farm Supply and had a Tole Painting shop there where she also taught.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling together and explored many locations. Mrs. Morris was well loved and had many families in addition to her immediate family. She had her families at Dairy Queen, Morris Farm Supply, First Baptist Church, her children's friends and the staff at Truman Health Care.
