Mr. Matthewson was born March 5, 1965, in Tulsa, to Lois (Russell) and Odis Matthewson. He was a 1984 graduate of Stillwater High School.

He worked as a pipeline inspector and often had a quirky solution to problems. He played the trombone in school and didn’t want to be in the band, so he tore it up. As a child he saw band aids as a cure all. He thought he had appendicitis and went to the doctor. When he lifted his shirt for the exam, he had put band aids on his stomach to “stop the pain”. He was the ultimate OU fan, especially OU football. He enjoyed collecting Coca Cola memorabilia and had an extensive collection. He also enjoyed grilling and having a Budweiser. He was a good man who loved his mother and would give someone in need the shirt off his back.
