RALPH JOHN SCHMIDT

GOLDEN CITY- A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Gray’s Point Cemetery for Ralph John Schmidt, 69, who died Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at his home in Golden City.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

The family will schedule a memorial service, with information to be provided once decided.

Survivors include his sons, Stoney Davis and wife Tracy and Johnathan Schmidt; five grandchildren, Dersham, Lydia, Sylvia, Abbey and Chance and his brother, Michelle McGehee.

He was preceded in death by his wife, mother and son, Christopher Schmidt.

Mr. Schmidt was born April 26, 1953, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Ursula Schmidt. He was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. He went to work for Wayne Daniels Trucking as a mechanic. He was a talented mechanic and even built his own truck with a cab low like in a car. He worked as a truck driver for many years.

He loved his family, especially his wife Faye and he never recovered from her death in 2017. He was a loving father to his three boys and loving papa to his five grandchildren.
