ALICE “JUANITA” JOHNSON
LAMAR- A private family service and burial will be held for Alice “Juanita” Johnson, 88, Lamar, who died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include sons, Alan Chaput and wife Trudy, Walnut Grove and Daniel Mankey, Lamar; daughters, Roseann Dalton and husband Steve, Springfield, Susan Asbell, Jasper and Yvonne Boyd, Lamar; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a brother, John Huddleston, Chesapeake Bay, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Johnson; two daughters, Joy Clocke and Rebecca Jean Smith; one son, James Henry Mankey and a son-in-law, Brent Asbell.
Mrs. Johnson was born March 4, 1934, in Richland, Ga., to James Alvin Huddleston and Annie Pearl (Broughton) Huddleston. She attended Richland High School. At the age of 20 she moved to Florida, then to Chicago, Ill. and then on to Los Angeles, Calif. In 1963, she moved back to Lamar. She married Walter David Johnson on Dec. 24, 1971, in Lamar.
Mrs. Johnson had worked in restaurants, O'Sullivan Industries, as an auction clerk and cashier and was a partner with her husband in Johnson Hardware Store.
