MONTE G. OWEN

Monte G. Owen passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023 in Pittsburg, Kan. He was 84 years old. Monte was born to Harold and Wilhma Owen in Barton County. He was the youngest of three children and grew up on a farm near Irwin. Monte married Pauline Stoner on May 29, 1960. They made their home in Lamar. He worked primarily in the landscaping business. Monte was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Monte was preceded in death by his wife Pauline; his parents and sister, Betty Blanchard. He is survived by his son Rocky and wife Sherri, Lamar; his daughter Ginger, Lamar; his son Randy and wife Donna, Lamar; five grandchildren, Heather Buynar and Darby, Corey, Austin and wife Jordan and Ethan Owen and two great-grandchildren, Hadley Buynar and Thatcher Owen; his brother, Dean Owen and wife Loretta, as well as nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at 2 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 52 SE 40th Lane, Lamar, MO 64759.
