GARY BRUCE COLIN

LAMAR- Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oakton United Methodist Church for Gary Bruce Colin, 74, Lamar, who died Saturday, March 4, 2023. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery (Oakton).

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday), at Daniel Funeral Home.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to the “Bob Johnson Scholarship Fund”, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons, Jason and wife Robin Colin, Lamar and Adam and wife Mary, Joplin; one daughter, Amanda and husband Todd, Lamar; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Colin was born Jan. 23, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo., to Bruce Colin and Muriel Zona (Potter) Colin. He married Linda Caryl Phipps on March 7, 1969, in Lamar.

Mr. Colin enlisted in the United States Army in February of 1969 and retired in February of 1993. He worked as a truck driver, logistics coordinator and tire salesman for John Deere (Heritage Tractor) for over 40 years. He was a member of Oakton United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping out with anything that needed to be done around the Church. His favorite pastime was cheering on his grandchildren at all of their events.
