Four thousand Easter eggs were filled with goodies, including $400 in cash prizes, at the Lamar Elks Easter Egg Hunt held Saturday, April 8, 12 noon, at the Lamar City Park. The Easter Bunny arrived at the park in the back of a pickup that was being escorted by Lamar Police Officer Kylie Gerster, complete with lights and sirens. There were many participants as the weather was perfect for an Easter egg hunt. Lamar Elks Lodge No. 2800 members furnished hot dogs and drinks following the hunt at the enclosed shelter house. The Easter Bunny remained long enough to have pictures taken with those attending the hunt, while many families gathered around their children as they opened up their eggs to see what surprise might be inside.
