Arden, a first grader at Lamar East Primary, recently took it upon herself to help the Lamar Animal Shelter with dogs that were up for adoption. Arden, who is seven years old, put the wheels in motion and at Truman Day on Saturday, May 7, she was instrumental in finding a home for four dogs. Arden was set up by the Truman Birthplace in a wide area for the dogs to romp. Nearby was a table that was laden with donated dog food and items for a raffle. Donated pet food is always welcome and those wishing to do so or to find out more about adopting an animal, should contact the Lamar Animal Shelter or visit their facebook page at Lamar MO Animal Shelter.
