IOLA JANE FRENCH

JOPLIN- A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, for Iola Jane French, 76, Joplin, who died Saturday, May 13, 2023, at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch in Joplin. Burial will follow in Lake Cemetery in Lamar.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to the Special Olympics or the Bill and Virginia Leffen Center for Autism, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, John; two sons, Tom L. Hanna and wife Adrienne, Houston, Texas and Troy French, Joplin; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Teri Hanna, Jasper and Chris Hanna, Lamar; one brother, Roy Hanna, Joplin and two brother-in-laws, Kenny Griffitt, Jasper and Mick Calhoun, Rockford, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Pat Pennell and Arlene Calhoun.

Mrs. French was born Oct. 15, 1946, in Ruthven, Iowa, to Tom L. Hanna and Rosina Belle “Mickey” (Perry) Hanna. She married Jon Eldon French in Miami, Okla. on Nov. 28, 1975.

Mrs. French graduated from MSSU, with her Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and worked as a certified public account for Nick Myers, CPA; Edward August, CPA. She also worked at Burl Garvin Realty before going back to school for accounting. She was a member of the Missouri State Republican Committee. She loved to paint and decorate cakes.
