Lamar Tigers win Class 3 District 11 championship

Photo courtesy of Terry Redman The Lamar Tigers defeated the East Newton Patriots 3-0 to claim the Class 3 District 11 baseball championship at Shoff Field in Lamar. The Tigers jumped on the Patriots for two runs in the first inning and added another in the fourth. The pitching of Tate Ansley and the team defense stopped any and all threats of a Patriot comeback. The Tigers hosted the Stockton Tigers in sectionals at Lamar on Tuesday with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals.
