ALINE ADAMS
REPUBLIC- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar for Aline Adams, 98, who died Thursday, June 8, 2023. A visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.
After services, family and friends will gather at Chicken Annie’s at 5 p.m., where they will be spending Granny bingo quarters on the chicken machine.

Survivors include her four children, Reeda McKay and husband Mac, Stan Adams and wife June, Karen Maples and husband Mike and Daryl Adams and wife Becky; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and nine great great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Adams was born April 2, 1925, in Muleshoe, Texas, to James H. and Maggie (Fimpel) Owen. As a young child she lived in Texas, Colorado and New Mexico, where she discovered a love of horned toads and tarantulas. Her family settled in Fair Grove, where she met the love of her life, John Reed Adams. They were married March 22, 1942 and moved to Lamar, where he worked for Lawn Boy.
Mrs. Adams was a homemaker, a Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader and the Thea RHO sponsor. She joined the Calla Rebekah Lodge in 1954 and was an active member until the lodge disbanded well into her 90s.
In 1962, she went to work at Barton County Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide (CNA) and remained there until her retirement at 70 years old. She worked in labor and delivery, where she rocked multiple generations of babies in the nursery including two of her own grandchildren.
After retiring she worked at the Good Samaritan and went on several trips with the bank tours. She moved to Republic, where she could be closer to her family. She resided there until her death.
Her family was her biggest joy in life.
