Ms. Suiter was born Aug. 26, 1948, in Lamar, to Irene (James) and Wilbur “Jack” Suiter. She grew up in the Lamar-Liberal area. She went to Pleasant View Rural Schools and then attended and graduated from Lamar High School in 1966. She attended Pleasant View Baptist Church until it closed and then became a member of the Lamar Christian Church. She enjoyed playing the piano and performing music at Maple Senior Living. She was not a person who put great value on material possessions, yet she was always ready with gifts for birthdays, Christmas or special occasions. She was an easy touch for any school fundraising project.

Ms. Suiter worked in the insurance field. She started working for Herb Young at MFA Insurance and then went to work for Bruce Belline, from where she recently retired after 48 years of employment. She was very good at her job because she loved her work, especially working with “her” farmers and crop insurance.

She was well loved and adopted into many families as “Aunt Mary” and into the Hagins family as another child. She enjoyed bowling, eating out, going to the movies and “heaven forbid” shopping with a group of dear friends: Linda Hagins, Connie Montgomery, Peggy Sangster, Garalene Pyatt, Donna Reedy, Amanda Blanchard and Carol Hartline. When they could, they took along Mary Ethal Hagins and Eva Cackley. Their adventures often took them to Branson and to Nashville, Tenn. to the Grand Ole Opry. They also traveled to more exotic places such as a cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico, a road trip to Niagara Falls, NY and into Canada, a trip to Disney World in Florida and several trips to Yellowstone National Park. Together the group had good times and made many happy memories throughout their adventures.
