EARL BLAINE BELL

FORT DODGE, Iowa-Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for Earl Blaine Bell, 86, Fort Dodge, who died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016. Military honors were conducted.

Arrangements were under the direction of Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fort Dodge.

Survivors include four sons, Keith Bell and wife Doreen, Craig Bell and wife Terri and Joel Bell and wife Karla, all of Fort Dodge and Kevin Bell and wife Joyce, Peyton, Colo.; two daughters, Jackie Barron and husband Bruce, Des Moines and Shelly Aanrud and husband John, Ankeny; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Ainsworth, Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother, Frank Bell, Lamar, Mo. and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Lloyd and his four brothers, James Keith, Wayne, Robert and Paul Bell.

Mr. Bell was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Liberal, Mo., to Carl and Ethel (Ricketts) Bell. He was a 1947 graduate of Liberal High School. He lived in western Kansas for two years before moving to Fort Dodge in the 1950's. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on April 30, 1953. After the service he built grain elevators and later was an agent for Bankers Life and Casualty Co. for over 33 years before retiring in 1995.

He loved fishing at “The Lake” in Missouri, working on wood and gardening, but his greatest love was being with his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
